Immigration Paralegal (Writing-Focused) – Riverton, UT (Hybrid)
Peak Immigration is seeking a highly motivated, writing-focused Immigration Paralegal to join our growing team in Riverton, Utah. This role is ideal for a strong writer and logical thinker who enjoys building persuasive arguments, organizing evidence, and drafting high-quality materials. The role will primarily focus on EB-2 National Interest Waiver (NIW) petitions, EB-1A Extraordinary Ability petitions, and Requests for Evidence (RFEs).
Prior immigration experience is helpful but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates exceptional writing ability, strong reasoning skills, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft persuasive, detail-oriented legal writing for employment-based immigration cases, including:
- Petition support letters
- Proposed recommendation letters
- Personal statements and impact narratives
- RFE response briefs and supporting documentation
- Work closely with the attorney to develop case strategy and structure strong, evidence-driven arguments.
- Organize and assemble complete petition packages, including:
- USCIS forms and supporting documents
- Legal argument packets
- Exhibits and supporting evidence
- Indexes and exhibit lists
- Communicate with clients to gather information, clarify facts, and request supporting evidence.
- Track deadlines and maintain accurate case status updates.
- Conduct research as needed on case-specific topics, professional fields, and USCIS policies and trends.
Skills & Qualifications
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills (this is a writing-heavy position).
- Strong logical reasoning and ability to build clear, persuasive arguments from evidence.
- Strong research skills and ability to synthesize complex information into compelling narratives.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Professionalism and discretion in handling sensitive client information.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a small team.
Preferred (but not required):
- Prior experience with immigration law, especially NIW, EB-1A, or RFEs.
- Experience in legal writing, academic writing, journalism, or other writing-intensive roles.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, especially in a writing- or research-intensive field (e.g., English, Communications, Journalism, Political Science/International Relations, History, Philosophy).
- Equivalent professional experience and demonstrated writing ability will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Benefits
- Salary: $45,000 – $65,000 DOE.
- PTO and paid holidays.
- Hybrid schedule:
- Work from home Mondays and Fridays
- In-office Tuesdays–Thursdays
- The firm anticipates offering health insurance and additional benefits after 12 months of continuous employment, subject to strong performance and evolving firm needs.
