Fonte Friz-Garcia Immigration Firm is a dynamic, well-established immigration law firm in Coral Gables seeking a full-time Associate Attorney to join our growing legal team. This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse and challenging immigration caseload, including employment-based and family-based matters, removal defense, humanitarian relief, federal litigation, and other complex immigration cases. The ideal candidate is a motivated attorney with excellent legal writing and advocacy skills who is passionate about representing immigrants and making a meaningful impact.
Responsibilities
- Represent clients in a broad range of immigration matters before USCIS, EOIR, the Department of Labor, the Department of State, and federal courts, as appropriate.
- Prepare and file employment-based and family-based petitions, nonimmigrant and immigrant visa applications, PERM labor certifications, naturalization applications, waivers, removal defense filings, and other immigration matters.
- Conduct legal research and draft motions, briefs, legal memoranda, and other filings.
- Appear at hearings, interviews, and other proceedings before immigration agencies and courts, as appropriate.
- Develop case strategies in collaboration with partners and senior attorneys.
- Communicate effectively with clients throughout the representation and provide exceptional legal counsel.
- Supervise and collaborate with paralegals and legal assistants to ensure accurate and timely case preparation.
- Maintain organized case files and ensure compliance with all filing deadlines and procedural requirements.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in any U.S. jurisdiction;Florida Bar membership preferred.
- Immigration law experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience handling matters before USCIS and/or EOIR is preferred.
- Strong interest in immigration litigation and courtroom advocacy.
- Excellent legal writing, research, analytical, and advocacy skills.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys and legal support staff.
- Strong commitment to providing exceptional client service and high-quality legal representation.
