Company Description Deason Law, P.C. is a full-service immigration law firm representing businesses and individuals across the United States. A significant part of our practice focuses on corporate and employment-based immigration, including immigrant and nonimmigrant visas, intracompany transfers of managers and executives, employment-based sponsorships, H-2A agricultural workers, employer compliance, and government audits.
Our practice also includes family-based immigration, removal defense, and litigation involving U.S. immigration and employment laws.
Role Description Deason Law, P.C. is seeking a full-time Immigration Attorney for an on-site position in Houston, Texas. The attorney will manage a diverse caseload involving corporate and employment-based immigration, family-based immigration, removal defense, and related litigation. Responsibilities will include:
- legal research
- case strategy development
- drafting and filing petitions and motions
- working closely with paralegals and support staff to ensure cases are handled accurately and on time
The attorney will also represent clients before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), the U.S. Department of Labor, immigration courts, and other federal agencies. Additional responsibilities include maintaining case records, staying current on changes in immigration law and policy and contributing to the firm’s overall client service and efficiency.
Qualifications
- J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license and good standing to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction; eligibility to practice in Texas preferred.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. immigration law.
- Experience with corporate and employment-based immigration matters, including immigrant and nonimmigrant visa petitions.
- Experience advising businesses, employers, executives, professionals, and foreign national employees on immigration matters is strongly preferred.
- Experience with family-based immigration, removal defense, or immigration litigation is a plus.
- Excellent legal research, writing, drafting, and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple cases, priorities, and deadlines.
- Excellent client communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff.
- Bilingual Spanish/English required; professional fluency in both languages is essential.
- Ability to come into the Houston, TX office 5-days a week.
