Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Immigration Paralegal role based in Dover, NJ with the possibility to work from our Newark office. The Immigration Paralegal will support attorneys by preparing and organizing immigration forms, petitions, and supporting documentation for a range of cases, including family-based, employment-based, and humanitarian applications. Day-to-day responsibilities include gathering client information, maintaining case files, drafting cover letters and affidavits, and tracking deadlines. The person in this role will communicate regularly with clients to collect documents, provide status updates, and clarify case requirements, while also coordinating with government agencies as needed. The Immigration Paralegal will assist in legal research on immigration issues, follow up on pending applications, and help ensure that all filings comply with current immigration regulations and firm procedures.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Law and specific familiarity with Immigration Law to support attorneys in a variety of case types.
- Knowledge of Immigration Issues and Visas, including common family-based, employment-based, and humanitarian categories.
- Proficiency in Legal Document Preparation, including completing immigration forms, drafting cover letters, and organizing evidence packets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally and empathetically with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple cases, deadlines, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with office software, case management systems, and electronic document management.
- Prior experience as an immigration paralegal or legal assistant is preferred; certification or coursework in paralegal studies or a related field is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree, paralegal certificate, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Fluency in Spanish is a must.
- Being a notary is a plus
