About the Role
We are hiring an Immigration Paralegal to join our team in a hybrid role based in Chicago or Schaumburg, IL. You will prepare and manage immigration case filings from intake through approval, working directly with clients and attorneys on family-based petitions, waivers, and humanitarian cases.
This is a hands-on role for someone who drives cases forward independently — tracking deadlines, catching missing documents, and making clients feel heard.
What You Will Do
- Prepare and file family-based petitions (I-130, I-485, I-751, I-864)- Draft and assemble waiver applications (I-601, I-601A) with supporting evidence- Support humanitarian cases including VAWA, U-Visa, T-Visa, and asylum filings- Communicate with clients in English and Spanish to gather documents, explain processes, and provide case updates- Monitor case status, track deadlines, and respond to RFEs promptly- Organize case files and maintain accurate records- Coordinate with USCIS, NVC, and consulates as needed- Assist attorneys with case strategy, legal research, and hearing preparation
What We Are Looking For
Required:- 2+ years of immigration paralegal experience- Hands-on experience preparing family-based petitions, waivers, and/or humanitarian visa cases- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple cases independently- Excellent organizational and communication skills
Strongly Preferred:- Fluency in English and Spanish- Experience handling RFEs and working with USCIS, NVC, or consulates- Familiarity with immigration case management systems
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 per year- Full-time, hybrid position (Chicago or Schaumburg, IL)- Benefits package included
