The Role As a Managing Attorney, you will lead clients through the full lifecycle of work visas and green cards for their foreign national employees. You’ll be a trusted strategic advisor — guiding hiring decisions, visa strategy, and the most efficient path to securing benefits — for a portfolio of mid-volume SME clients across HR, People Operations, General Counsel, and C-suite stakeholders.
You’ll work across a diverse case mix, including H-1B, TN, E-2, O-1, EB-1A, and National Interest Waivers, with the support of a strong paralegal and junior attorney bench.
This is a fast-paced role with real client ownership, leadership scope, and a clear path to grow your own book of business.
What You’ll Do Client Strategy & Counsel - Evaluate cases and develop case strategies and creative solutions to complex issues
- Guide clients and foreign national employees through every stage of the immigration process
- Lead recurring client account calls on legal updates, process changes, company immigration policy, and best practices
- Maintain long-term relationships with client points of contact throughout their careers
Case Leadership - Review petitions and responses to government inquiries prepared by paralegals and junior attorneys
- Review global immigration petitions prepared by external counsel partners
- Respond to client and foreign national communications by email and phone
Team Leadership - Supervise, mentor, and develop assigned attorneys and paralegals
- Provide coverage for attorneys on PTO and leave of absence
- Collaborate with other attorneys and departments on firm projects and initiatives
Subject Matter Depth - Perform legal research and prepare memoranda or legal briefs when necessary
Required - Licensed attorney in the United States
- Minimum 7 years of experience in a high-volume business immigration environment
- Deep NIV experience: H-1B, H-1B1, E-1, E-2, E-3, TN, L-1, O-1, J-1, and B-1
- Full-cycle green card expertise: PERM, I-140, and Adjustment of Status , plus EB-1A, EB-1B, EB-1C, and EB-2 NIW experience
- Track record of independently managing and growing client account relationships
- Experience managing and mentoring account staff, including junior attorneys, paralegals and legal assistants
Strongly Preferred - Demonstrated ability to generate and retain clients
