Role Description The Immigration Paralegal / Legal Assistant will provide day-to-day support to attorneys on a variety of immigration matters in a full-time, on-site role based in Hallandale Beach, FL. Responsibilities include preparing and organizing immigration forms and supporting documentation, drafting cover letters and legal correspondence, and maintaining case files and calendars. The role involves communicating with clients to gather information, request documents, and provide case status updates, as well as coordinating with government agencies when needed. The team member will conduct basic legal and factual research, track deadlines, and help ensure that all filings are accurate, complete, and submitted on time. This position requires consistent on-site collaboration with attorneys and staff in a professional office environment.
Qualifications
- Strong foundational knowledge of law and immigration law, with the ability to understand and follow legal procedures.
- Experience working with immigration issues and visas, including familiarity with common U.S. immigration categories and processes.
- Proficiency in legal document preparation, including drafting, reviewing, and organizing immigration forms and supporting evidence.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and strong grammar and proofreading abilities.
- Highly organized, able to manage multiple cases, deadlines, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with office software and case management tools; ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Prior experience as an immigration paralegal or legal assistant preferred; paralegal certificate or relevant education is a plus.
