Role Description The Immigration Attorney will provide legal representation and counsel to clients on a wide range of immigration matters, including family-based petitions, visas, removal defense, and adjustment of status. Day-to-day responsibilities include meeting with clients, assessing their legal needs, preparing and filing immigration applications and motions, and representing clients before immigration courts and government agencies. The attorney will research and analyze immigration statutes, regulations, and case law, and collaborate with colleagues on cases that intersect with criminal and traffic issues. The role also involves maintaining detailed case files, tracking deadlines, and communicating case progress to clients in a clear and timely manner. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Glen Ellyn, IL.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Immigration Law and experience handling a variety of Immigration Issues.
- Demonstrated experience with Visas and related immigration processes and documentation.
- Ability to analyze complex Legal Issues and provide accurate, practical legal advice.
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active license to practice law in Illinois, or eligibility to obtain it.
- Experience representing clients before immigration courts or government agencies is preferred.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
- High level of professionalism, ethical judgment, and client-centered communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple cases, prioritize tasks, and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with case management software and standard office productivity tools.
- Fluency in additional languages relevant to the client base is a plus.
