Job Summary
Kendall, Crawford & Reeker, PC LLO is looking for an associate for our firm. We are specifically looking for a candidate interested in immigration law and other areas of law that tie in with the immigration prorcess. The ideal candidate will be someone who is excited by the opporutnity to zealously represent indviduals both before the Immigration Courts as well as assistant clients through USCIS processes. The ideal candidate is one who is looking to develop the necessary legal skills to ensure that those invovled in the immigration process can fully assert their legal rights.
Duties
- Make regular appearances before the Omaha Immigraiton Court with clients for pretrial master hearings as well as final merits hearings.
- Draft and review legal documents for Immigration Court including motions, briefs, written pleadings and other necessary documents for court representation.
- Review legal documents filed by immigration agencies related to client cases and respond to them accordingly.
- Prepare necessary applications for filing in both the Immigration Courts but also with USCIS.
- Meet with clients both during the intake process but also to prepare them for upcoming hearings.
- Attend USCIS interviews with clients regarding their applications.
- Stay current on the fast-paced and frequent changes occuring in the immigraiton law context through ongoing research and through professional development.
- Assist Senior Attorneys with other areas of law related to the immigration practice and develop the necessary skills to manage those case as well.
Experience
- Prior experience working and/or clerking in a law office or legal research environment is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in legal research tools and with document preparation.
- Strong writing skills with the ability to produce clear and concise legal drafts and memoranda.
- Excellent organizational skills with experience managing multiple cases simultaneously.
- A proactive attitude towards learning is essential.
- While not required, some familiarty with the Spanish language is highly encouraged.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
