Job Summary
The Student Immigration Specialist administers all aspects of student and scholar visa programs, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and alignment with institutional priorities. Works collaboratively with, but not limited to, academic units, Human Resources, Enrollment Management, and the Office of General Counsel to support international enrollment and employment activities. Contributes to the development, integration, and implementation of policies and practices affecting visa-holding students and scholars. Serves as a key point of contact for international students and scholars, academic advisors, HR partners, and representatives from Global HR. Acts as an official liaison between the Institute and federal agencies, including the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Department of State. Provides expert guidance and advisement to international students and employees on immigration matters.
Responsibilities
Job Duty 1 -
Process eligibility documents for nonimmigrant students and exchange visitor visa holders.
Job Duty 2 -
Provide ongoing support for mandatory compliance and reporting projects related to hosting nonimmigrant students and scholars.
Job Duty 3 -
Determine eligibility and process immigration-related benefits and requirements in designated immigration software systems.
Job Duty 4 -
Meet with international students and scholars to provide guidance and support related to immigration benefits, travel, status maintenance, and other related concerns.
Job Duty 5 -
Assist in developing and delivering informational sessions and cultural engagement programming for international students and scholars, as well as campus and affiliated units.
Job Duty 6 -
Contribute to the creation of content outlining immigration-related benefits, responsibilities, and resources for institutional websites and internal knowledge bases.
Job Duty 7 -
Support the creation and maintenance of content related to immigration benefits, responsibilities, and available resources for institutional websites and knowledge bases.
Job Duty 8 -
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Associate's Degree in a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Other Required Qualifications
Must be a US citizen or permanent resident.
Required Experience
Two or more years of relevant experience in immigration advisory at a US college or university.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a university environment advising international students on F-1 and J-1 visas. Experience using BANNER and Sunapsis or other batch system
Preferred Educational Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline.
Preferred Experience
Two to three years of job-related experience

Anticipated salary range of $55,029 to $60,000 will be commensurate with qualifications.
