Responsibilities
- Work on EB-1A, EB-1C, EB-2, O-1, L-1A, and E-2 applications
- Engage in in-depth research pertaining to laws, regulations, AAO Precedent/Non-Precedent Decisions, court rulings, legal precedents, documents, opinions, briefs, citations, and other pertinent information related to cases.
- Monitor federal laws, regulations, policies, and orders, and promptly relay reports on new regulations to colleagues in relevant fields for the purpose of publishing articles on the My Visa Services' online platform.
- Evaluate new regulations and decisions to bolster the comprehension of immigration case types and processes among members of the My Visa Services team.
- Collaborate with external law firms and attorneys to remain informed about the most recent changes and developments in the field of immigration law.
- Produce memoranda, draw conclusions on specific legal matters, and provide pertinent suggestions or recommendations to My Visa Services' marketing team for the formulation of corresponding action plans.
- Assist attorneys in gathering pertinent data, documents, and records, and with case management, calendaring, and preparation for hearings; assist with the preparation and filing of petitions, including drafting, proofreading, editing, and fact-checking
- Undertake research to address distinctive legal issues by identifying pertinent statutes and judicial decisions.
- Assess petitions, Requests for Evidence, and denials, and generate comprehensive reports based on Request for Evidence and Immigration law, offering detailed feedback to clients.
- Create and translate contracts for clients and various legal documents to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Draft responses to RFEs, NOIDs and extension requests
- Perform research in both internal and external databases; analyze and summarize findings to better prepare attorneys in answering legal questions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or above; LLM or JD preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience as a paralegal or in a similar role is preferred, with immigration law experience considered a plus.
- Exceptional writing and communication abilities, as well as strong case and client management skills.
- Excellent legal research skills.
- Self-motivated candidate with the ability to work independently and as a team player.
- Strong multitasking skills.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Punctuality and reliability.
- Bilingual in English and Mandarin is required.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract
Pay: $45,000.00 - $79,809.00 per year
