Position: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Paralegal with at least 5 years of experience in immigration law. This is a hybrid position, offering a balance of remote work and in-office Tuesdays and Thursdays for collaboration at our downtown Manhattan office. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with a proven track record of managing diverse caseloads and a commitment to providing high-touch client service.
Key Responsibilities
- Case Management: Oversee diverse filings including adjustment of status, cancellation of removal, asylum, waivers, and employment-based visas.
- Client Relations: Perform intakes, collect evidence, and provide consistent, empathetic case updates to clients.
- Drafting & Preparation: Prepare applications for filing with USCIS, the U.S. Department of State, and Immigration Courts. Draft affidavits, personal statements, pleadings, and motions for attorney review.
- Agency Liaison: Correspond with various government and law enforcement agencies to ensure case progress.
- Attorney Support: Assist with file organization and comprehensive case preparation for court submissions.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of immigration paralegal experience in a law firm or non-profit setting.
- Education: High school diploma or higher.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Workspace. Experience with immigration case management software is a plus.
- Communication: Exceptional writing skills and a high level of attention to detail.
- Language: Fluency in a second language is highly preferred.
- Traits: A self-starter who takes initiative, remains punctual and reliable, and is comfortable asking questions to ensure accuracy.
