Have you ever dreamed of having the time and resources to draft the perfect H-1B or O-1?
Are you a strategic immigration attorney who thrives on custom solutions rather than assembly-line processing?
Do you love taking a deep dive into the regulations to figure out what they actually say vs. what some immigration firms think they say?
Join a boutique business immigration practice at a prestigious 90+ year Connecticut law firm, where they deliver comprehensive A-to-Z immigration compliance solutions for discerning clients who demand excellence.
This role is intense and not for everybody. It’s a unicorn role that only appears every so often. You will act more as an in-house immigration counsel to clients rather than traditional outside counsel.
About the Role:
- Base salary: $180,000 - $235,000 (based on experience)
- Billable hour requirement: to be discussed in interview
- Full benefits package
- Primary location: Connecticut (hybrid on-site presence to build client relationships and team collaboration)
The Opportunity:
- Bespoke Service: Work with varied clients on custom solutions rather than repetitive corporate accounts.
- Mentorship: Direct coaching from an equity partner to develop your expertise and business acumen.
- Career Growth: Path to partnership for those who excel.
- Innovative Environment: Join a firm that fosters subject matter expertise and entrepreneurial thinking.
Experience Requirements:
- 3-7 years of business immigration experience (not high-volume production work).
- Proven track record of independent case management and client counseling.
- Deep understanding of immigration regulations and compliance requirements.
- Experience with H-1B, L-1, PERM, and other employment-based visa categories.
What They DON'T Want:
- Mass production experience from high-volume firms.
- Attorneys who rely on templates without understanding underlying regulations.
- Candidates seeking routine, repetitive work.
- Those who need constant supervision or hand-holding.
Requirements:
- J.D. from accredited law school
- Active bar admission (Connecticut preferred)
- 3-7 years business immigration experience
- Strong academic credentials
About Their Practice
Their immigration practice operates differently from traditional high-volume firms. They don't mass-produce cases – they craft custom immigration strategies for each client, from multinational corporations to entrepreneurs and educational institutions. Their clients pay premium fees because they receive premium service: perfect petitions, hiring support, compliance infrastructure creation, and optimal case submissions that achieve exceptional approval rates with minimal RFEs.
Ready to Elevate Your Immigration Practice?
If you don’t want to be an assembly-line worker in a mass production environment and want to join a practice where expertise, strategy, and client service matter most, they want to hear from you.
This is not an entry-level position. They seek experienced professionals ready to take ownership of complex cases and client relationships from day one.
