About the Role
The experienced Immigration Paralegal is a full-time, on-site role based in our Buffalo, NY office. You'll prepare and organize immigration petitions and applications across employment-based and family-based visas, adjustment of status, and naturalization filings. Day to day, you will gather and review supporting documentation, maintain case files, and manage deadlines while communicating regularly with clients, HR representatives, and attorneys to ensure accurate and timely submissions.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and organizing immigration petitions and applications, including drafting forms and supporting letters
- Gathering, reviewing, and compiling supporting documentation into well-organized evidence packets
- Conducting legal research on immigration regulations, policies, and procedures
- Tracking case progress through government systems and managing filing deadlines
- Communicating regularly with clients, corporate HR contacts, and attorneys
- Supporting attorneys with case strategy and coordinating with government agencies as needed
- Contributing to overall workflow efficiency within the firm
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in law and immigration law, with a working understanding of U.S. immigration processes and procedures
- Knowledge of immigration matters and visa categories, including both employment-based and family-based classifications, as well as adjustment of status and naturalization filings
- Proficiency in legal document preparation, including drafting forms, support and employer letters, and compiling well-organized evidence packets
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload, prioritize competing demands, and consistently meet strict government and internal deadlines
- Competence with legal case management software (Salesforce or comparable) and standard office applications (Microsoft 365, document formatting, and PDF tools)
- Strong work ethic and a genuine commitment to learning and professional growth
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced team
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate preferred
