Atlas Immigration Law is a Dallas-based immigration firm handling detained cases, family-based petitions, asylum, employment-based matters, and humanitarian relief. Many of our clients reach out during a difficult moment in their lives, whether that's a family member in detention, a pending deadline, or a case that has stalled with another firm. The way we handle that first conversation sets the tone for everything that follows.
We are a small firm with significant growth ahead. We invest heavily in technology and operate differently than a traditional immigration practice. This role is best suited for someone who is comfortable in a fast-moving environment and wants to be part of building something rather than stepping into an established system.
Position Overview
The Legal Intake Specialist serves as the first point of contact for prospective clients. This is a qualification role, not a sales role. The objective is to assess each lead's situation, determine whether the firm is well-positioned to help, and route qualified prospects to the appropriate consultation attorney for the full case evaluation and retention conversation.
Strong performance in this position is measured by the quality and completeness of the information passed to the consultation team, the accuracy of qualification decisions, and consistent follow-up on leads who are not yet ready to schedule.
Core Responsibilities
- Respond to inbound calls, web inquiries, and referrals as they are received
- Conduct structured intake interviews covering eligibility, case timeline, and financial readiness
- Schedule consultations with the appropriate attorney based on case type and language preference
- Follow up consistently with prospects who require additional time or documentation before moving forward
- Document all interactions in the firm's CRM with the level of detail required for the consultation team to be fully prepared in advance of each call
- Identify and escalate complex or unusual matters for attorney review prior to scheduling
- Support the broader intake function as needed during high-volume periods
Qualifications
We weigh aptitude and work ethic more heavily than formal credentials. Successful candidates typically demonstrate:
- Strong active listening skills and the ability to remain composed with clients in distress
- Attention to detail, particularly in capturing names, dates, A-numbers, and case history accurately
- Comfort discussing sensitive topics, including immigration history, prior legal issues, and financial circumstances, in a professional and direct manner
- Organizational discipline and reliable follow-through across a large caseload of prospects
- Willingness to learn immigration law fundamentals, our qualification framework, and our internal systems
- Consistency and dependability, particularly during periods of elevated call volume
Prior legal experience is not required. Candidates with backgrounds in customer service, medical intake, call center operations, or other structured information-gathering roles tend to transition well. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
Bilingual Spanish/English candidates are strongly preferred given our client base.
Compensation and Benefits
- $15–$20 per hour, commensurate with experience
