About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Immigration Program Manager to join our Global Immigration team, with a dedicated focus on supporting DACA recipients and humanitarian-based employees. This role is critical in ensuring that some of most valued team members receive timely, thoughtful, and strategic immigration support. The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of U.S. immigration law, exceptional stakeholder management skills, and a genuine commitment to advocating for employees navigating complex immigration challenges.
Key Responsibilities
Expedite Options Investigation
- Research and evaluate all available expedite pathways for employees currently on unpaid leave of absence due to immigration-related work authorization gaps
- Partner with external immigration counsel to assess eligibility for USCIS expedite criteria, including severe financial loss, critical infrastructure, and humanitarian considerations
- Develop and maintain a structured framework for evaluating and pursuing expedite requests, ensuring consistency and timeliness across cases
H-1B Lottery Program Management
- Identify and evaluate high-performing DACA employees who may be eligible for H-1B registration, in close coordination with People Business Partners (PBPs), Legal, and Finance
- Manage the end-to-end H-1B registration and petition process, including cost tracking and approval workflows for associated filing fees (including cases with significant financial investment)
- Serve as the primary point of contact for selected employees throughout the H-1B petition lifecycle, providing clear communication and proactive case management from registration through approval
Collaboration with People Business Partners (PBPs)
- Build and maintain active, trusted partnerships with PBPs across business units to ensure immigration needs are surfaced early and addressed strategically
- Collaborate with PBPs to draft compelling expedite request letters to USCIS, clearly articulating the business necessity and employee impact of each case
- Provide immigration education and guidance to PBPs to build organizational capability and ensure consistent employee experiences
Proactive Monitoring & Outreach
- Maintain a comprehensive, real-time dashboard of employees with imminent Employment Authorization Document (EAD) or visa expirations, prioritizing cases requiring urgent action
- Conduct regular, proactive outreach to affected employees and their HR partners well in advance of expiration dates to assess options and initiate timely filings
- Develop individualized action plans based on each employee's specific immigration category, business role, and timeline, leveraging valid business need justifications for expedite filings where applicable
Policy & Program Development
- Stay current on legislative and regulatory developments affecting DACA, Temporary Protected Status (TPS), humanitarian parole, and related immigration categories
- Translate policy changes into actionable guidance for internal stakeholders and communicate impacts clearly to leadership
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of DACA and humanitarian immigration program, including standard operating procedures, playbooks, and employee-facing resources
Qualifications
Required
- 4+ years of experience in corporate immigration program management, with demonstrated expertise in DACA, humanitarian, and employment-based immigration categories
- Deep working knowledge of U.S. immigration processes, including H-1B, EAD renewals, DACA renewals, TPS, and USCIS expedite criteria
- Proven experience managing complex, high-sensitivity immigration cases with competing priorities and tight deadlines
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to navigate sensitive conversations with empathy and professionalism
- Experience partnering with HR, Legal, and Finance stakeholders in a large, matrixed organization
Preferred
- Experience at a large technology company or similarly complex corporate environment
- Familiarity with immigration case management systems and data reporting tools
- Bachelor's degree in a related field; J.D. or paralegal certification a plus
