JMA Firm, PLLC, located in Dallas, Texas, seeks a full-time Business Immigration Paralegal. Requires dependability, accountability, organizational skills, time management and writing skills. The position will directly report to and assist JMA attorneys with the following primary position responsibilities:
- Preparation of non-immigrant and immigrant visa petitions and other related government applications and petitions for a variety of clients for submission and review by the U.S. Department of Labor, U.S. Department of State and U.S Department of Homeland Security, including U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service, U.S. Customs and Border Protection and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement
- Navigate and stay current with email and phone communication with client contacts.
- Reviewing/organizing application support documentation
- Active and ongoing tracking/following up on critical dates
- Detailed maintenance and organization of critical information in database and report tracking software
- Create concise, well-organized written work product that demonstrates the accurate application of immigration knowledge and problem-solving skills
- Research other matters as directed by attorney and prepare detailed and organized account of research found with references to sources for attorney review
- Collaborate with team to assist with the processing and coordination of all immigration matters
Candidate must possess the following:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Meticulous attention to detail;
- Experience with MS Office, that includes Excel, Word and PowerPoint;
- Ability to prioritize, manage, and implement multiple projects in a fast-paced, driven environment;
- Takes ownership and completes assignments under minimal supervision;
- Extraordinary client service attitude and professional demeanor at all times;
- Works well under deadlines, handles confidential information with professionalism, and displays strong interpersonal skills;
- Empathy and self-awareness to foster a positive team environment and to build trust and rapport to support client needs
- Follows written and verbal instructions thoroughly;
- 2 years’ experience in H-1B, L-1A/L-1B, PERM, TN, I-140 and I-485;
- 1-2 years INSZoom or other immigration-based database experience preferred;
- Spanish fluency (reading/writing/speaking) a plus.
