We are currently seeking an
Immigration Paralegal to play a key role in supporting employment‑based immigration matters for corporate clients within a collaborative law firm environment.
The ideal candidate brings strong employment‑based immigration experience, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple matters efficiently while delivering high‑quality support to attorneys and clients.
This position can be based in Cincinnati, OH; Columbus, OH; Dallas, TX; Houston, TX; or Louisville, KY.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and file employment-based immigration petitions and applications, including H-1B, L-1, TN, E-3, O-1, PERM, I-140, and Adjustment of Status (I-485) filings.
- Draft and review immigration-related documentation, such as support letters, job descriptions, and audit files.
- Manage case timelines and monitor status of filings with USCIS, DOL, and DOS.
- Coordinate closely with attorneys, clients, and beneficiaries to collect necessary documentation and information.
- Maintain case files and upload documentation to the firm’s case management system, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Track and manage deadlines, including visa expirations, Requests for Evidence (RFE) response dates, priority dates, and PERM recruitment timelines.
- Assist with preparing responses to Requests for Evidence, audit responses, and other government inquiries.
- Communicate case status updates to clients and respond to client inquiries professionally and promptly.
- Accurately record time worked and enter time and description into time and billing system.
Job Requirements
- Associates degree or Bachelor’s degree with a major in paralegal studies, or
- A Bachelor’s degree with an unrelated major, and have:
- A certificate from an ABA approved paralegal training program specializing in the area for which the candidate is being considered; or
- Three years’ experience in the area of specialization for which the candidate is being considered or other comparable experience; or
- Unique qualifications, experience, or training which fill a specific need within FBT Gibbons.
- Minimum of three years of experience supporting employment-based immigration matters.
- Strong research skills.
- Extremely accurate and detailed in paperwork.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work with set goals and achieve them.
- Capable of analyzing situations and solving problems effectively.
- Ability to work under pressure and with time constraints.
- Ability to work independently and as a team.
- Strong organizational and attention to detail skills.
- Proficient computer skills using MS Office applications.
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
