Soni is partnering with a global law firm looking for an Immigration Paralegal to join its team in New York. The role involves assisting attorneys with servicing and communicating with clients, along with the review, preparation, filing, and monitoring of immigration matters and related support with the administration of immigration processes for both individuals and businesses
Responsibilities:
- Comprehensive Case Management: Coordinate all aspects of case preparation, including document collection, drafting, filing with government agencies, and maintaining accurate timelines and case status.
- Legal and Administrative Support: Assist attorneys by preparing legal documents and correspondence using firm software, adapting templates as needed, and managing administrative tasks such as billing, e-filing, and file maintenance.
- Client and Agency Liaison: Serve as a key point of contact by communicating with clients, attorneys, and government agencies to ensure timely delivery and receipt of case materials.
- Research and Quality Assurance: Conduct targeted research to support case strategy, evaluate case progress, escalate concerns proactively, and consistently deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced legal environment.
Qualifications:
- Two plus years of hands-on experience in immigration law, preferably within a law firm setting, with a solid foundation in case handling and legal procedures.
- Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail, time management, and the ability to meet tight deadlines while managing multiple tasks independently.
- Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills, fluency in English, and a collaborative mindset essential for working effectively in team environments.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and familiar with document management systems and the ability to quickly adapt to new tools and directions.
- Bachelor’s degree
Compensation: $80,000 – 100,000 Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
