1.0 Duties And Responsibilities

The International Student Advisor is responsible for preparing and issuing immigration documents, immigration advising, and helping maintain compliance with TSA, SEVIS, and U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) regulations affecting M1 non-immigrant students.

Responsibilities include:

Act as a Designated School Official (DSO) and maintain compliance with federal regulations applicable to the enrollment of international students utilizing SEVIS, FTSP, and TSA.
Manage and maintain continuing immigration status for all current students
Provides immigration information to new and current international students regarding their status and compliance.
Work with outside government agencies on students’ flight training and immigration status
Work with students from all nationalities
Work with various departments in the company in relation to students training and immigration
Follow company policies and procedures
Performs other related duties and assignments as required
Must be flexible to work as needed
Supports and participates in the organization’s Continual Improvement Program to comply with ISO 9001:2015 requirements by adhering to processes and procedures

2.0 Requirements

2.1 EDUCATION

High School Diploma or equivalent.

2.2 Experience

2 years of administrative experience in Immigration
Previous TSA/SEVIS knowledge/experience preferred
Federal regulations require that the International Student Advisor be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident for certification as Designated School Official approved by Department of Homeland Security.

2.4 KNOWLEDGE

Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)

2.5 EQUIPMENT/MACHINERY USED

General office equipment such as facsimile, copier, personal computer, laminating machine, etc.
Vehicle operation such as a company van, golf cart, etc. as required
Use of personal vehicle may be required

3.0 Physical And Safety Requirements

Will be working primarily inside the facility.
May have limited exposure to aircraft, simulators and equipment.
May require prolonged periods of sitting or standing.

4.0 Others
