Job Summary:
Meneses Law is seeking an enthusiastic Software Developer to join our growing dynamic team. Reporting directly to the Software Engineer Manager, you will work closely with experienced engineers to develop, maintain, and improve our software solutions, which play a crucial role in our legal operations.
As a Software Developer, you will work across the full stack, developing and maintaining React-based frontend applications while contributing to our TypeScript-powered backend services. You will also work with SQL and No-SQL databases (PostgreSQL & MongoDB) using ORM’s to efficiently manage and store structured data. This is a generalist role, offering an opportunity to gain experience in both frontend and backend development in a modern, high-performance environment. A successful candidate will be highly motivated, eager to learn, punctual, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain React-based web applications using TypeScript, Tailwind, and ShadCN.

Develop and maintain backend services using modern TypeScript frameworks such as Hono, Elysia, or Express.
-
Utilize Bun (and other JavaScript runtimes) for efficient development, testing, and performance optimizations.
-
Work with PostgreSQL (via ORM) to manage and store structured data efficiently.
-
Develop and consume RESTful APIs, ensuring efficiency, security, and scalability.
-
Integrate and work with AWS SDK and AWS Services for both frontend and backend development.
-
Participate in SCRUM development environment, contributing to sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospective meetings.
-
Follow industry best practices for code quality, security, and performance.
-
Create and maintain technical documentation, including system architecture, API documentation, and development guides.
-
Write and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for internal business processes.
-
Collaborate with designers, product managers, and senior engineers to build and refine features.
-
Utilize Git, GitHub, and understand GitHub Actions for version control and CI/CD processes.
-
Occasionally work with other programming languages such as Python for data processing, automation, and rapid prototyping.
Required Skills and Abilities:
-
Proficiency in React and TypeScript required, Next.js experience is highly preferred.

Experience with any JavaScript runtime (Node.js, Deno, Bun)
-
Experience building backend web applications with modern frameworks (Express, Spring, .NET, Django, Hono, etc.).
-
Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases, preferably PostgreSQL, but experience with MySQL, MS SQL, MongoDB and other databases is acceptable.

Proficiency with AWS SDK and AWS services, including experience integrating AWS services on both frontend and backend.

Experience working with RESTful APIs, including knowledge of API design principles and best practices.

Understanding of authentication and authorization methods (JWT, OAuth, session-based auth).

Understanding of common security vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10, CSRF, XSS, SQL Injection) and best practices to mitigate them.

Understanding of version control best practices, including Git and GitHub (branching strategies, pull requests, and code reviews).

Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, with GitHub Actions being a plus.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with an aptitude for debugging and troubleshooting.

Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Educational / Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Relevant certifications (AWS Certified Developer, PostgreSQL Professional, Azure Database Admin Associate, etc.) are a plus.

1-3 years of experience in software development or a related role.

Experience working in a macOS based development environment is highly preferred.
Compensation
Meneses Law believes in Work Life Balance. Operation hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. plus 2 Saturdays a month for certain positions.
