Job Title: Immigration Specialist
Department: Immigration Legal Services
Reports to: Deputy Director, Immigration Legal Services
Summary: This is a full-time position that supports Immigration Services. The Immigration
Specialist provides assistance to recently arrived immigrants and refugees by gaining them
access to legal, medical, social, educational, and other core social services. The Immigration
Specialist is involved with client intake for legal and social services, case management, and
development of individualized service plans towards client self-sufficiency.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Assist clients with completion of USCIS forms related to immigrant benefits and ensure
all evidence is attached with each application submitted;
● Make referrals to immigration attorneys on complicated cases involving immigration
law, removal or deportation cases to address needs of clients;
● Handle client case management and maintain case files, including data entry on
immigration related case management software and timely follow-up on case needs;
● Maintain and regularly updated log of contact with clients and client case statuses;
● Communicate with clients to gather information and schedule appointments;
● Assist with office-related support and administrative tasks, including filing forms,
maintaining office calendar, and organizing legal mail;
● Analyze and enter data for quarterly and annual grant reporting;
● Support client intake and assessment and conduct client referrals to social services;
● Participate in outreach functions;
● Attend meetings for immigration services stakeholders;
● Train to become an Accredited Representative by the Department of Justice to include,
but not limited to: 1) Successful completion of the Comprehensive Overview to
Immigration Law course; 2) Naturalization Workshops; 3) workshops related to
citizenship, public charge, waivers, asylum, adjustment of status, family reunification,
and replacement of documents;
● Support Immigration Services team with other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
● 4 year degree in social work, education, international studies, or other related field;
● Second language proficiency desired;
● 2 years-experience in non-profit environment;
● Interest in immigration law;

COMPENSATION/HOURS
● $45,000 - $50,000 annually commensurate with experience.
● Location: 723 C Umi St. Honolulu, HI 96819 and remote as necessary.
● Full-time; 40 hours per week. Monday – Friday; some weekend and evenings may be
required to meet client needs
