Akhtar & Chavez, PLC is seeking a skilled and highly motivated Associate Immigration Attorney to join our team! We will accept candidates with 0 to 5 years of immigration law experience. The candidate must be passionate about immigration law and dedicated to providing high-quality legal representation to our clients. Salary will be determined based on experience/immigration law knowledge.

Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and submit various employment and family-based immigration applications/petitions, Request for Evidence (RFE) responses, legal briefs for submission to government agencies, such as USCIS, DOS, BIA and EOIR.
- Prepare, review, and submit removal and asylum cases.
- Conduct client consultations to evaluate immigration needs and provide legal advice.
- Research immigration issues and develop strategic plans to achieve goals based upon current immigration laws and policies; determine and communicate potential risk factors as well as potential outcomes.
- Collaborate with peers, legal assistants, and administrative staff to ensure proper case management goals are met, including tracking case status, prioritizing key deadlines, and proper communication is provided to clientele. Handle administrative tasks as needed.
- Collect, analyze, and verify client documentation to ensure requirements are met for case processes and supporting evidence.
- Provide representation to clients during case processing, USCIS conducted interviews, and EOIR proceedings.
- Remain conscious of update peers and clientele of changes to immigration policies, laws, and developments that could affect case outcomes.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to the state bar and in good standing
- 0-5 years of immigration law experience
- Fluency in English
- Fluency in Spanish, Bangla, Urdu, Punjabi, or another language is preferred.
- Excellent communication, research, and advocacy skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
