The De Castroverde Law Group is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Immigration Paralegal with experience in removal defense to join our immigration team. The ideal candidate is passionate about helping individuals navigate complex immigration matters and has a strong understanding of immigration court procedures, case management, and client communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with all aspects of removal defense cases before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA)
- Prepare and file applications, motions, briefs, exhibits, and supporting documentation
- Draft legal correspondence, declarations, and other case-related documents
- Maintain accurate case files and monitor court deadlines
- Communicate regularly with clients regarding case status, document requests, and upcoming hearings
- Coordinate filings with Immigration Courts, USCIS, ICE, EOIR, and other government agencies
- Conduct legal and factual research as directed by attorneys
- Prepare hearing packets and assist with trial preparation
- Translate and interpret documents when applicable
- Ensure compliance with all filing requirements and procedural deadlines
Qualification
- Must be bilingual in English and Spanish
- Minimum of 2 years of immigration paralegal experience, with a focus on removal defense
- Strong knowledge of EOIR procedures and immigration court processes
- Experience preparing asylum applications, cancellation of removal applications, waivers, motions to reopen, and other removal-related filing
