We are looking for an Immigration Paralegal to support a busy employment-based immigration practice in San Diego, California. This is a Contract position offering permanent hours and the opportunity to assist with time-sensitive H-1B and Schedule A employment authorization matters in a remote work environment. The ideal candidate brings strong accuracy, sound judgment, and a client-focused approach when preparing filings and gathering case documentation.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and assemble employment-based immigration filings, including H-1B petitions and immigrant visa applications, for attorney review and submission.
• Communicate with clients to request, track, and organize supporting documents needed for case preparation.
• Review forms and case materials carefully to help ensure filings are complete, consistent, and ready for government submission.
• Maintain digital case files and update matter details in case management systems to support efficient workflow tracking.
• Coordinate with attorneys and internal team members to manage deadlines and prioritize urgent filing activities.
• Use document tools such as Adobe to compile, revise, and finalize immigration packets and related correspondence.
• Monitor case progress and follow up on outstanding items so applications move forward on schedule.
• 3+ years of experience supporting employment-based immigration matters in a paralegal capacity.
• Hands-on experience preparing H-1B and I-140 filings; familiarity with I-129 documentation is strongly preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work accurately on government forms and supporting evidence.
• Strong client communication skills, particularly when collecting documentation and explaining next steps.
• Proficiency with case management software and document review processes.
• Comfortable working independently in a remote setting while managing a steady workload.
• Proficiency with Adobe or similar document preparation tools.
