OVERVIEW:
The Senior Trainerwill lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of digital and instructor-led training solutions to meet internal client new-hire and professional development needs. This role ensures that legal teams and support staff are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and tools required to deliver accurate, compliant, and high-quality immigration services in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the development and delivery of training content by leading cross-functional project teams to determine needs, required results, and most effective approach
- Seek out and establish SMEs needed to help develop rough content and provide “reality check” through feedback and content review to determine efficacy of final content
- Produce effective virtual/classroom instructor-led training materials using established templates, or developing new ones as needed, using available software packages
- Deliver virtual/classroom instructor-led training for new and existing employees
- Implement and schedule training programs via the learning management system (LMS) and/or MS Outlook
- Manage the evaluation process for existing training programs
- Conduct train-the-trainer sessions to ensure training content can be taught by others on the Training Team or by others within the organization
- Perform maintenance on existing training materials to ensure they are up-to-date
- Ensure employee training records are updated and maintained within the LMS
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain quality service by adhering to organizational standards
- Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing publications, mentoring with others, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to collaborate effectively with others, establishing strong working relationships throughout the organization
- Proficiency in the use of video/CBT-development tools (e.g., Final Cut Pro X, Adobe Premier, Camtasia, Captivate, and/or Articulate)
- Solid scripting and writing skills
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (i.e., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Ability to make sound judgment calls and prioritize
- Ability to follow established style guides to ensure consistency and quality of end product.
- Ability to work well with minimal supervision
- Outstanding attention to detail and ability edit own and other’s work (and take criticism in a constructive manner)
- Superior client service skills (e.g., having a good sense of humor, and getting along well with others).
- Ability to meet deadlines and goals
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Five years of experience in a training development & delivery role; seven years is preferred
- Three years of experience using virtual instructor-led training tools (Adobe Connect and/or WebEx preferred)
- 1-3 years of experience in instructional systems design; three years is preferred
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Able to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time.
- Able to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist and reach on a daily basis.
- Able to perform general office administrative activities: copying, filing, delivering and using the telephone.
- Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Regular and on-time attendance.
- Must be able to prioritized, schedule and complete testing required for multiple applications with overlapping schedules.
- A certain degree of creativity and flexibility is required.
- Hours may exceed 40 hours per week.
- Occasional travel by conventional means including aircraft, motor vehicle and the like within the region and to other locations as required.
