Nonaj Law, PLLC is a dedicated business and family immigration law firm headquartered in New York City. We represent multinational corporations, emerging-growth companies, start-ups, and individual clients across all stages of the U.S. immigration process. Our practice is fast-paced, detail-driven, and deeply client-focused. We are seeking an experienced Immigration Paralegal who can manage complex visa matters from inception through approval—with minimal supervision and maximum precision.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Immigration Paralegal will serve as a core member of our legal team, owning the full lifecycle of nonimmigrant and immigrant visa cases. This role requires end-to-end proficiency: intake through filing, government correspondence, RFE responses, and client communication. The ideal candidate is organized, a strong writer, and deeply familiar with USCIS and DOL processes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Nonimmigrant Visa Matters (End-to-End)

■ Draft and assemble O-1A/O-1B petitions with comprehensive evidentiary packages

■ Manage L-1A/L-1B intracompany transferee petitions, including blanket petitions

■ Prepare TN, E-3, and other treaty-based nonimmigrant filings

■ Prepare and file H-1B petitions, including cap-subject registrations, extensions, amendments, and transfers

■ Handle P and I visa classifications as needed

■ Draft support letters, legal briefs, and cover memoranda for all petition types

Immigrant Visa & Green Card Matters (End-to-End)

■ Manage PERM labor certification cases cradle-to-grave: recruitment coordination, PWD requests, audit response, and ETA Form 9089 filing

■ Prepare I-140 immigrant petitions under EB-1A, EB-1B, EB-1C, EB-2, and EB-3 classifications

■ Draft EB-1A/EB-2 NIW petitions including advanced-degree and national interest waiver arguments

■ Assist with adjustment of status filings (I-485, I-131, I-765, I-864)

■ Coordinate consular processing matters and immigrant visa packages

Case Management & Client Relations

■ Serve as primary point of contact for assigned clients throughout the case lifecycle

■ Monitor USCIS/DOL processing times, case status, and visa bulletin updates; proactively advise clients on timelines

■ Draft and respond to Requests for Evidence (RFEs) and Notices of Intent to Deny (NOIDs)

■ Maintain accurate, up-to-date case files in practice management software

■ Coordinate with HR departments, corporate clients, and foreign nationals on document collection

■ Track priority dates, I-94 expiration dates, and filing deadlines to prevent lapses in status

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

■ Minimum 2–4 years of hands-on immigration paralegal experience in a law firm or corporate legal department

■ Demonstrated end-to-end experience with H-1B, O-1, L-1, TN, and at least one immigrant visa pathway (PERM, EB-1, EB-2, or EB-2 NIW)

■ Proficiency in drafting petition support letters, cover memos, and RFE responses independently

■ Strong working knowledge of the INA, 8 C.F.R., 20 C.F.R. Part 656 (PERM), USCIS Policy Manual, and relevant AAO/BIA precedent decisions

■ Familiarity with DOL FLAG System, USCIS ELIS, and myUSCIS case tracking

■ Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; able to explain complex immigration concepts to non-attorney clients

■ Highly organized with the ability to manage 80+ active files simultaneously without sacrificing quality

■ Bachelor’s degree required; paralegal certificate or J.D. (non-licensed) strongly preferred

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

■ Experience with INSZoom, Docketwise, or equivalent immigration case management platform

■ Familiarity with consular processing (DS-160, NVC, immigrant and nonimmigrant visa appointments)

■ Prior experience responding to PERM audits or complex RFEs

■ Bilingual ability (Italian, Albanian, a plus)

■ Knowledge of E-Verify and I-9 compliance procedures
