This is a full-time, salaried position with office hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
The salary range for this role is $50,000 to $55,000 annually, depending on experience.
This position provides direct support to one attorney, and after a full training period of a minimum of three (3) months—based on performance—the role will transition to a hybrid schedule. The paralegal will share office space with the assigned attorney to support efficient communication and workflow. Fluency in Spanish is required, as the majority of client communication, screenings, and document assistance will involve Spanish-speaking individuals. In addition to legal responsibilities, this role includes administrative duties such as scheduling, confirming, and contacting clients; conducting initial conversations with potential clients (PCs); and scanning documents for the attorney’s review.
As a Paralegal, you will be responsible for the following duties, as well as any other reasonable duties assigned to you that are consistent with your responsibilities. You agree to devote your full business time, attention, and best efforts to the performance of your duties:Core Responsibilities
- Support and work closely with the assigned attorney on all case-related tasks
- Learn and become proficient in the E-Immigration Case Management System
- Maintain confidential client information in accordance with firm policies
- Maintain and organize litigation and immigration files
- Analyze case documents and prepare immigration applications for filing with the appropriate government agency
- Assist in trial and hearing preparation
- Draft, prepare, review, and edit legal documents
- Draft, prepare, review, and edit legal motions and court filings (immigration courts and federal courts), including less complex motions under attorney guidance
- Provide case status updates to attorneys and clients as directed
- Learn procedural and processing requirements for various types of court cases, visa petitions, and applications
- Conduct case intake, troubleshoot issues, and help establish case strategy
- Draft petitions, applications, and specialized support letters detailing eligibility for visa classifications and other immigration benefits
- Communicate regularly with clients and foreign nationals regarding procedural and case processing issues
- Prioritize assigned cases, monitor workload, and track production
- Work effectively in a fast-paced environment, particularly when supporting detained clients
- Use Spanish fluently in verbal and written communication with clients, potential clients, and third parties
Administrative Responsibilities
- Schedule and confirm client appointments
- Contact clients for follow-ups, documentation requests, and reminders
- Conduct initial conversations with potential clients (PCs)
- Scan, organize, and route documents to the attorney
- Assist with routine administrative tasks needed to keep the attorney’s workflow moving
