Join our dynamic team as an Immigration Case Coordinator, where you'll play a pivotal role in supporting our top attorneys and valued clients with immigration matters. We're looking for someone with a passion for immigration laws, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to juggle multiple tasks efficiently. The Immigration Case Coordinator’s primary functions include new matter intake/file opening, docket/tickler management, and prebill review. This includes but is not limited to coordinating and executing the billing process for assigned attorneys leveraging the use of eImmigration, Phoenix, and Aderant.
Responsibilities:
- Immigration Expertise: Demonstrate substantive knowledge of a wide variety of immigration processes to assist with docket/tickler management efficiently and accurately and prebill review.
- Docket/Tickler Management: Stay on top of deadlines and ensure all due dates and tasks are accurately tracked and reported in eImmigration.
- File Management: Perform conflict checks, draft engagement letters, and manage the file opening process with precision.
- Client Service: Ensure compliance with client expectations, including outside counsel guidelines and appropriate billing task codes.
- Billing Process: Handle all aspects of the billing process for assigned attorneys, including review, editing, and finalizing billing statements.
- Problem-Solving: Address billing issues independently, ensuring a smooth transition to electronic billing systems and resolving any rejections efficiently.
- Collaboration: Work with the Legal Operations team on both practice management solutions as well as innovation solutions to reimagine how the work is performed.
- Team Support: Assist with onboarding and training new team members.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and work experience.
- Experience: Five or more years in a similar role, preferably within a mid- to large-size law firm or professional services firm. Prior experience in business immigration matters is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Extensive experience with Aderant, Elite, or SAP billing platforms, with a preference for Aderant. Familiarity with eBillingHub or BillBlast is a plus.
- Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
- Problem-Solver: Demonstrated analytical skills and the ability to spot and resolve issues proactively.
- Team Player: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-focused mentality.
