The Program Supervisor for the Immigration Services Program is responsible for overseeing the recruitment and coordination of eligible participants for citizenship and DACA application processing. This role includes the planning and implementation of outreach strategies, volunteer engagement, and the coordination of program activities. The Program Supervisor also assists with client intake and assessments and may facilitate or support educational workshops and group sessions. The position requires strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills to ensure effective service delivery and community engagement.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Plan, monitor, and evaluate the effectiveness of the Immigration Legal Services Program using best practices and outcome-based strategies.
- Coordinate citizenship and immigration service delivery, including policy implementation, client advisement, outreach, and crisis management.
- Monitor and respond to changes in immigration law, policy, and regulations; assess program impacts and make timely adjustments.
- Ensure compliance with ethical standards, organizational policies, and applicable legal regulations.
- Provide legal supervision and guidance to team members on immigration-related cases.
- Support team members to identify, train, and develop a growing network of informed and engaged Community Navigators.
- Co-manage and facilitate team members and community workshops, conferences, and professional development sessions.
- Develop and sustain relationships with partner organizations, community groups, and immigration coalitions.
- Prepare concise reports and contribute to grant proposals and renewal applications.
- Conduct phone and in-person interviews to assess eligibility, gather case facts, and identify legal issues.
- Perform conflict checks, initial intakes, and data entry in the electronic case management system.
- Communicate with clients about eligibility requirements and the case acceptance process.
- Meet with clients and professionals to review case details and advise on immigration regulations and document requirements.
- Prepare affidavits, legal correspondence, and other necessary documents; organize and maintain accurate client files (paper and electronic).
- Oversee adult education classes and provide support for participants learning initiatives
The ideal candidate will have the following education and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, Legal Studies or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with citizenship and DACA cases, and 2 years as a Department of Justice (DOJ) Accredited Representative.
- Strong commitment to immigrant rights and community empowerment through collective action and mutual support.
- Demonstrated experience communicating with clients and interacting with agencies such as USCIS, ICE, CBP, NVC, and EOIR regarding immigration matters.
- Bilingual fluency in Spanish required.
- Exceptional communication skills—oral, written, and interpersonal—with an empathic, client-centered approach sensitive to the legal and social challenges faced by diverse immigrant communities.
- Confident public speaker, able to present information and respond to questions from community members and participants.
