About the Position:
We are seeking an Immigration Paralegal with a strong background in processing cases that require psychological evaluation, including:
I-601, I-918, I-589, N-648, T-Visa, VAWA, and cancellation of removal
This role is essential in strengthening a program that combines legal and psychological expertise to support petitions requiring evaluations for humanitarian-based immigration relief. You will collaborate closely with clinical psychologists and referring attorneys, guiding our team's efforts to ensure each revaluation meets legal standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with our clinical psychologists and referring law firms to review and process referred clients' intake forms and petitions.
- Provide insights on the requirements and nuances of report requirement for immigration cases.
- Serve as the program’s bilingual (Spanish-English) interpreter for clients' consultations, ensuring clear communication between clients and psychologists.
- Lead the advancement of program protocols, best practices, and guidelines for integrating legal and psychological perspectives into evaluation reports.
- Review and provide feedback on psychological evaluation drafts, ensuring compliance with immigration standards and optimizing report impact.
Qualifications:
- Certified Paralegal with a minimum of 5 years of experience in U.S. immigration law and extensive experience in processing psychological evaluation reports for the above-mentioned petitions.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English, with experience interpreting in legal and mental health contexts.
- Strong knowledge of immigration law requirements for psychological evaluation reports across various humanitarian case types.
- Proven experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, ideally in program development or legal-psychological consultation roles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills emphasizing culturally competent, client-centered service.
