We are currently seeking a passionate and skilled bilingual (Spanish and English) full-time Immigration Attorney to join our dynamic team.
Job Description:
Must be interested in working on immigration law cases in the courtroom. Courtroom experience is a must.
- All candidates must be licensed to practice law in California.
- Interested in working with Hearings in Immigration law and familiarity with Federal litigation.
- Must be proficient in legal research, word processing, and document databases.
- Be able to resolve and troubleshoot complex legal issues.
- Draft complex case matters including support letters, audit responses, and appeals.
- Organize, plan, and schedule cases on a priority basis.
Primary duties assigned to the associate attorney include, but are not limited to, providing direct assistance in immigration cases, providing legal representation for diverse clients with complex immigration cases before USCIS, Immigration Court, and State Court.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a sincere interest in family-based immigration and removal defense and especially someone that has a passion for representing minors.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conduct legal review and management of immigration cases;
- Represent and appear for non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals
- Represent client with U.S Citizenship and Immigration Services
- Manage a 150+ caseload with assigned paralegal
- Prepare diverse immigration applications, cover letters, and briefs, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions
- Review immigration applications/packets and make any necessary adjustments
- Develop strategy and prepare clients/witnesses for court/USCIS testimony and interviews
- Be willing to participate in different immigration training
- Prepare and submit legal briefs for a variety of immigration cases, including but not limited to court briefs, BIA and 9th Circuit appeals
- Maintain an active caseload to meet project deliverables
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Juris Doctor graduate
- An active member in a State Bar of California
- At least 2+ years of experience in immigration.
· Experience assisting immigrant, limited English speaking and/or low-income clients
· Experience appearing in immigration court is a must
· Experience with following forms asylum, family petitions, SIJS, visas, and other forms of relief
· Experience or familiarity with SIJS preferred.
· Excellent legal writing, speaking, and organizational skills
· Ability to communicate effectively with clients
· Must speak Spanish fluently.
· Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently
· Availability and willingness to regularly travel within the county (sometimes country for out-of-state hearings)
· Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends
· Access to reliable means of transportation required

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
