POSITION OVERVIEW
As the Senior Paralegal, you will take a leadership role in managing the day-to-day operations of our immigration team, supervising a group of 6-8 paralegals and intake specialists. You will ensure exceptional client service, efficient case management, and team performance. Reporting directly to the President & General Counsel, you will provide expert-level case oversight, refine operational processes, and support team training and development. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Leadership and Supervision:
- Provide daily oversight and mentorship to a team of 6-8 paralegals and intake specialists.
- Set performance expectations, monitor workloads, and conduct regular check-ins to ensure team efficiency and effectiveness.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performing, and supportive team environment.
Case Management:
- Oversee the full lifecycle of employment-based immigration cases, including PERM, Adjustment of Status, Immigration Petitions, Consular Processing, TN, and H-1B visas.
- Ensure that all cases are handled accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable regulations and deadlines.
Client Communication:
- Act as the primary contact for high-priority cases, providing clients with expert guidance on immigration options, risks, and potential consequences.
- Uphold the highest standards of professionalism and responsiveness in client interactions.
Process Optimization:
- Collaborate with leadership to implement and enhance operational processes and procedures for improved efficiency and client satisfaction.
- Partner with affiliated law firms to ensure seamless coordination and case management.
Training and Development:
- Lead the onboarding and ongoing training of paralegals and intake specialists, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and tools needed to succeed.
- Identify skill gaps and provide professional development opportunities to elevate team performance.
Strategic Collaboration:
- Work closely with the President & General Counsel to support the strategic objectives of the immigration practice.
- Provide insights on talent acquisition, process enhancements, and client service improvements.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience as an immigration paralegal specializing in employment-based immigration (e.g., PERM, Immigration Petitions, Adjustment of Status, Consular Processing, TN, H-1B).
- At least 3 years of experience supervising or managing a team of paralegals or similar legal professionals.
Skills:
- Proven leadership and team management abilities with strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Certifications:
- A paralegal certificate is required.
Language:
- Bilingual abilities in Spanish are highly preferred.
