An administrative professional responsible for managing and processing immigration paperwork, including applications, petitions, and supporting documents, by meticulously reviewing information, verifying details, and ensuring accuracy to facilitate the immigration process within a government agency and/or legal firm; the duties include data entry, file management, scheduling appointments, and providing basic information to applicants regarding immigration procedures.

Document Review and Processing:
- Receive and review immigration applications, petitions, and supporting documents for completeness and accuracy.
- Verify identity documents and support documentation against established guidelines.
- Identify missing information and request necessary documents from applicants.
- Conduct preliminary checks for eligibility based on immigration laws and regulations.
Data Entry and File Management:
- Accurately input applicant data into immigration databases and case management systems.
- Organize and maintain physical and electronic immigration files, ensuring proper documentation is readily accessible.
- Update case status information and track application progress.
Client Interaction and Support:
- Answer basic inquiries from applicants regarding immigration procedures and required documentation.
- Schedule appointments for interviews or biometrics collection.
- Provide general information about immigration policies and guidelines.
Administrative Tasks:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- General office procedures, familiarity with office equipment (computer, copier, and fax machine).

- Data Entry Proficiency. Excellent typing skills and experience with data entry systems.
- Organizational Skills. Ability to effectively manage large volumes of paperwork and maintain organized filing systems.
- Communication Skills. Clear and concise verbal and written communication to interact with applicants and colleagues.
- Cordial and effective communication with priests, parishioners, vendors, committee members, officers of Church Councils, and families, and Diocesan office personnel is an ongoing necessity.
- Knowledge of Immigration Law. Basic understanding of immigration laws, regulations, and procedures.
- Trustworthy, reliable, willing to maintain confidentiality, and the ability to complete routine and delegated assignments in a timely matter are essential.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

- A.A. degree (Associate of Arts degree (A. A.) from a two-year college or trade school in Office Administration or closely related field preferred; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
- Minimum of two years as an administrative assistant, or related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this position.
- Knowledge of federal immigration and naturalizations laws and regulations is preferred by not required.
