Bilingual Immigration Paralegal (Spanish-English) – NYC

Boutique immigration law office in New York City seeking a full-time bilingual Immigration Paralegal with at least one year of prior immigration law experience. Our practice focuses on family-based immigration matters, waivers, removal defense, and related proceedings before the Immigration Court. We also handle a limited amount of matrimonial/divorce work.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, professional with clients, and able to manage a high-volume caseload in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare and assemble immigration applications and supporting documentation, including:
Adjustment of Status applications
Family petitions
Naturalization applications
Waivers
Consular processing cases
Employment authorization and travel document applications
Assist attorneys with removal defense and Immigration Court matters
Draft client declarations, correspondence, and legal support documents
Communicate with clients regarding case updates, document requests, and procedural requirements
Maintain organized physical and electronic case files
Prepare filings for submission to USCIS, EOIR, NVC, and consulates
Conduct intake interviews and gather supporting evidence from clients
Monitor case deadlines and follow up on pending matters
Answer client inquiries by phone and email in English and Spanish

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required
Minimum one year of prior immigration law experience required
Fluency in both Spanish and English required (spoken and written)
Strong writing, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks
Experience with family-based immigration and waivers preferred
Experience with EOIR/removal proceedings preferred
Professional and courteous demeanor with clients and staff

Position Details

Full-time, 40 hours per week
In-office position in New York City
Salary commensurate with experience
