Growing law firm seeking a full time Immigration Legal Assistant.

Duties include preparing legal documents, managing client communication, and maintaining case files, ensuring smooth operations within the legal team.

Fluency in English and particularly Spanish is preferred to best communicate and assist our clients in their native languages.

Knowledge of immigration laws and procedures is a significant advantage but note required.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team is important for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

Document Preparation:

Assist in drafting and preparing immigration forms, applications, and legal documents like petitions, motions, and responses.

Case File Management:

Organize and maintain physical and electronic case files, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.

Client Communication:

Communicate with clients via phone, email, and in-person, providing updates on case progress and gathering necessary information.

Administrative Support:

Manage calendars, schedule appointments, and perform general administrative tasks to support the legal team.

Client Intake:

May be asked to assist in initial client consultations, gathering relevant information and assessing eligibility for immigration benefits.

Translation and Interpretation:

Translate documents or interpret during meetings and interviews for clients who may have language barriers.

Database Management:

Maintain client data in relevant case management systems.

Strong written and verbal communication skills: Essential for interacting with clients, colleagues, and legal professionals.
Excellent organizational and time management skills: Necessary for managing multiple cases and deadlines.
Proficiency in legal research and document preparation: Required for assisting with various immigration-related tasks.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
