Private Client and Tax - Immigration

Position Overview

The Immigration Associate role will work within our Immigration practice where our team helps successful multinational private and public companies, entrepreneurs and start-ups, and individuals and families around the world. This role will collaborate with attorneys and paralegals in day-to-day work including servicing and communicating with clients, with a particular focus on the review, preparation, filing, and monitoring of immigration matters and related support with the administration of immigration processes for both individuals and businesses. Contacts are frequently made with others inside and outside the firm including other attorneys, professional staff, clients, government agencies, and other professionals.

The Role

This role will sit in our New York office.

Independently execute case preparation and filing with government agencies, including, document gathering, document review, case drafting, and case filing for non-immigrant visa application cases, and developing strategies for complex matters.
Handle all types of business immigration processes, including, but not limited to, EB-1, NIW, PERM, O-1, E-2/E-1, L-1, H-1B, Conrad 30 waivers, hardship waivers, EB-5.
Prepare documents, forms, and letters utilizing web-based software and adapting resources when required to deviate from templates.
Communicate and follow-up with attorneys, clients, and government agencies to ensure delivery and receipt of materials.
Conduct research to obtain information such as, but not limited to, industry or company information, wage data, or processing procedures and timelines.
Effective communication and seamless legal support for the partner and clients.
Produce accurate, high quality, and efficient work in a fast-paced environment using the firm's software packages and document management systems.
Evaluate cases, relay concerns, and proactively escalate to attorneys.

Education Requirements

One to three years' experience as an immigration attorney, preferably in a law firm.
New York Bar membership is required.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent attention to detail, time management skills, and tight deadlines.
Focused team player.
Fluency in written and spoken English. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Experience with document management systems is a plus.
Must possess the ability to take direction, work independently, multitask, and achieve what may be extremely short deadlines.
On-Site Requirement: This role requires being in the office 5 (five) days a week.
Compensation commensurate with experience: $170,000 - $205,000
