Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) is seeking a Constituent Services Liaison to join his Austin, TX office.

Job Summary: Serves as a liaison to federal agencies on behalf of the Senator and his constituents. Manages a caseload of immigration-related constituent inquiries and assists constituents with issues involving USCIS, the Department of State, CBP, ICE, and other relevant federal agencies.

Constituent Services Liaison Responsibilities:

Assist Texas constituents with immigration-related issues involving federal agencies and provide information regarding available resources and appropriate next steps
Provide prompt, accurate, and professional responses to incoming immigration casework communications, both written and oral
Obtain and maintain required privacy releases and supporting documentation in accordance with office procedures
Initiate and monitor congressional inquiries with the appropriate federal agency
Track case status and ensure timely, accurate, and thorough documentation in the office casework database
Communicate extensively with constituents and federal agency congressional relations staff, both in writing and verbally
Handle sensitive and confidential immigration matters with discretion, tact, and diplomacy
Assist constituents with a variety of immigration matters, including petitions, applications, naturalization, visas, employment authorization, adjustment of status, and other immigration-related concerns
Assist in answering incoming phone calls and responding to general constituent inquiries, as needed
Coordinate with other congressional offices and appropriate federal agencies when necessary
Attend job-related meetings, agency seminars, briefings, and training sessions as needed

Education:

Four-year college degree, or equivalent professional experience

Skills/Requirements:

Two years of immigration casework experience required
Must be compassionate and deeply committed to helping others
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage a high-volume caseload
Strong critical thinking, research, and problem-solving skills
Ability to handle difficult, sensitive, and emotionally charged situations with tact and diplomacy
Ability to exercise discretion, independent judgment, and maintain confidentiality
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively as part of a team
