Business Immigration Paralegal
Full-Time or Part-Time Remote (Texas Preferred)

Hawks Villafranca Law is a boutique U.S. immigration law firm based in Austin, Texas, representing entrepreneurs, investors, executives, professionals, and families in their U.S. immigration journey. We are seeking an experienced business immigration paralegal who enjoys managing sophisticated cases, building strong client relationships, and producing excellent work in an organized, efficient, technology-driven environment.
This is a long-term opportunity for someone who wants meaningful responsibility, clear expectations, and the flexibility of a fully remote environment. The role is open to both full-time and part-time candidates, including experienced professionals seeking a 25–30 hour workweek.
Qualifications
- 3 years experience as a U.S. business immigration paralegal, with at least 2 years as lead or primary paralegal on assigned matters
- Experience with EB-1A, EB-1C, EB-2 NIW, E-1, E-2, TN, L-1, and/or O-1
- Experience with Family Petitions and Citizenship cases preferred but not required
- Full professional fluency in English and Spanish is required. This is a strict requirement as meetings and communications involving complex business issues are conducted in Spanish.
- Excellent writing, organizational, and client communication skills
- The ability and willingness to embrace new software, including AI and automation tools
- Familiarity with AILA resources and experience in an AILA-member practice preferred
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
Responsibilities
- Managing immigration filings from hire to filing (business 60%, family 30%, other 10%)
- Working directly with clients to gather information, documents, and evidence
- Drafting forms, support letters, declarations, and other petition materials
- Assisting with legal research and drafting case documents for attorney review
- Organizing and indexing evidence, preparing exhibit lists, and assembling filing packages
- Communicating with clients in English and Spanish, in writing and in meetings
- Using firm technology, AI tools, templates, checklists, and workflows to produce efficient, consistent work product

Employment Type & Compensation
This is a W-2 fully remote position that may be full-time or part-time. Full-time salary is $50,000–$60,000 annually, based on experience. Part-time compensation will be prorated based on agreed weekly hours.
The compensation package includes 10 days of paid leave plus approximately 15 paid federal and company holidays each year. The firm is closed between Christmas and New Year’s Day, with paid leave during that period. The exact number of paid holidays varies each year based on the calendar.
The role is 100% virtual, during regular business hours in U.S. central time. Preference will be given to Austin-based applicants who could meet clients in person or run to the post office, as needed.
