LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a well-established law firm in Atlanta to identify an experienced Business Immigration Paralegal to join its growing immigration practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has extensive experience managing employment-based immigration matters. Candidates must have a strong background in PERM labor certifications and be capable of independently managing the entire PERM process from initiation through filing, while supporting attorneys with a variety of employment-based immigration matters. A hybrid work schedule will be available after the candidate has established tenure and demonstrated success in the role.
Responsibilities
- Independently manage the PERM labor certification process from start to finish, including intake, prevailing wage requests, recruitment, audit file preparation, and filing.
- Coordinate all recruitment activities, monitor timelines, and ensure compliance with Department of Labor regulations.
- Prepare and file employment-based immigration petitions, including H-1B, L-1, TN, E-2, O-1, and I-140 petitions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely submission.
- Adjustment of Status (I-485) applications
- Draft support letters, immigration forms, and supporting documentation for attorney review.
- Communicate regularly with corporate clients, foreign nationals, HR professionals, and government agencies regarding case status and document requests.
- Maintain immigration case management systems, monitor critical filing deadlines, and ensure complete and accurate case files.
- Conduct legal research related to USCIS, Department of Labor, and Department of State procedures.
- Prepare responses to Requests for Evidence (RFEs), Notices of Intent to Deny (NOIDs), and audit requests as needed.
- Track visa expiration dates and proactively initiate extension and renewal processes.
- Assist attorneys with employment-based immigrant and nonimmigrant visa strategies and compliance matters.
- Ensure all filings are completed accurately and within required deadlines while maintaining exceptional client service.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of business immigration paralegal experience in a law firm or corporate legal department.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage the PERM process from beginning to end.
- Strong understanding of USCIS, Department of Labor (DOL), and Department of State (DOS) regulations and procedures.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage a high-volume caseload and competing deadlines.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- High level of attention to detail and commitment to providing outstanding client service.
