Position Summary:
This is a full-time, on-site Immigration Paralegal position based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
The Immigration Paralegal will work closely with attorneys and legal staff to prepare immigration applications and supporting documentation, communicate with clients, maintain case files, and ensure cases move efficiently through every stage of representation.
This position requires someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, comfortable learning new systems, and capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining excellent client service. Our office is fast-paced, and successful team members are able to remain calm, organized, and solution-oriented while balancing competing deadlines and shifting priorities.
Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in preparing immigration petitions, applications, motions, and supporting documentation.
- Collect, organize, and review client documents and information.
- Maintain electronic and physical case files.
- Track deadlines and manage case calendars to ensure timely filings.
- Communicate with clients regarding case updates, document requests, and appointment scheduling.
- Draft correspondence and routine legal documents.
- Conduct basic legal and factual research as directed.
- Prepare filing packets for submission to USCIS, EOIR, ICE, and other government agencies.
- Maintain accurate records within the firm's case management system.
- Monitor case progress and follow up on outstanding items.
- Assist with general administrative and office support duties as needed.
- Qualifications
- Prior office or administrative experience preferred.
- Legal or immigration experience is not required; training will be provided.
- Strong computer and technology skills, including the ability to quickly learn new software and work efficiently with digital documents.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and Google Workspace is preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional demeanor and excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a team.
- Experience working with individuals from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds is a plus.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree is preferred but not required. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
