The role:
The role is an opportunity to work directly with a broad range of corporate clients, from large international corporations, to SMEs, across a variety of sectors. However, you’ll be directly responsible for a key global financial services client. This is a unique opportunity to act as a trusted advisor operating as an extension of the client’s Global Mobility and HR teams, combining technical immigration expertise with operational leadership and stakeholder partnership.
You will be predominantly engaged in transactional work, independently expected to manage end-to-end UK inbound matters with full case ownership, exercising sound legal judgment on standard applications and escalating complex or high-risk matters appropriately. The role includes responsibility for defined client workstreams and contributing to continuous improvement across service delivery. In this core Financial Services role, you will serve as the primary day-to-day contact for designated stakeholders, proactively managing relationships and ensuring delivery within agreed SLAs
You will have the support of Senior Managers as well as administrative support for your day-to-day caseload.
While operating with a high degree of autonomy, you will collaborate closely with Managers and Partners on complex, strategic or escalated matters. In addition, you will have the opportunity to participate in business development activities and be involved in wider Firm initiatives (including government liaison and pro bono work.) The role also requires commercial awareness, including identifying cross-sell opportunities, managing scope appropriately, and contributing to client reporting, training and audit activity.
What your day will look like:
Act as Key Client Contact & Strategic Advisor
- Act as the key point of contact on client accounts, providing clear, confident legal and strategic advice
- Manage and develop client relationships, operating as a trusted advisor within defined workstreams
- Anticipate client needs, proactively identifying risks, compliance gaps or potential escalations before they impact delivery
- Be recognised as a strong technical expert within the team and a reliable escalation point for complex or VIP matters
- Provide informed high-level assessments where matters require referral to specialist teams
Own Case Strategy & Delivery
- Maintain a full caseload in an organised, efficient manner while adhering to deadlines and SLAs
- Deliver consistently high-quality case strategies (drafting, reviewing, counselling) with minimal correction required
- Conduct legal research as required, applying findings accurately and pragmatically
- Proactively flag complex or high-risk matters and escalate appropriately
Lead Operational Oversight & Billing Excellence
- Take responsibility for billing and WIP reports for assigned matters
- Support the Managers in monitoring billing health, reviewing rejections and identifying root causes
- Recommend and implement process improvements to reduce recurring billing issues
- Hold regular WIP reviews with junior colleagues to ensure case progression remains strong
- Ensure Connect records, client protocols and internal systems are consistently accurate and up to date
Support Team Leadership & Development
- Act as technical escalation point for complex matters, providing structured guidance to junior colleagues
- Provide leadership and training to junior team members, supporting onboarding and ongoing development
- Contribute to appraisal discussions and team performance oversight where required
- Share knowledge and best practice to promote consistency across the core financial services client team
Deliver Strategic Client Engagement
- Participate in client reviews, including preparation of reports, meetings, presentations and training
- Lead preparation of ABR/QBR materials and client-facing updates that are accurate, commercially relevant and tailored
- Contribute to compliance audits and client site reviews, leading discussions and identifying actionable improvements
- Identify cross-sell or out-of-scope opportunities and escalate appropriately

As part of the team, you will work with experienced immigration professionals whilst gaining exposure to senior leadership and Partners in the UK and beyond.

Essential criteria:
- Extensive UK Inbound immigration experience
- Experience in advising on corporate immigration matters, with a particular focus on sponsored work visas
- Confident advising client stakeholders and developing business
- Proactive and highly organised with a strong client-facing background
- Attention to detail is key, as is the ability to work autonomously, as well as collaboratively as part of the team
- Strong technical capabilities with a high level of accuracy
- Adaptability with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely
- You will ideally be a self-starter with resilience and strong commercial acumen
- A positive outlook and a solutions-driven focus is crucial
- Demonstrable experience supervising or mentoring junior colleagues
- Strong understanding of billing processes, WIP management and commercial scope control
- Ability to anticipate risk and manage escalations independently
- Confidence operating as a trusted advisor within a sophisticated corporate environment
Preferred skills:
- Experience operating in a client-embedded advisory role
- Exposure to global mobility or EMEA programme coordination
- Experience leading compliance audits or client training
- Familiarity with billing tools such as QTier, WIPPER or rejection dashboards
