Fisher Phillips, a premier international labor and employment law firm, is seeking a skilled and experienced Immigration Paralegal Manager to join our team. Position Summary
The Immigration Paralegal Manager will manage approximately a 50% typical caseload while providing leadership and oversight to the immigration paralegal team. This role is responsible for day-to-day case operations, ensuring timely, accurate, and high-quality execution of employment-based and, when needed, family-based immigration matters. The position works closely with attorneys and practice group leadership to guide case workflow, maintain consistent drafting and filing standards, and deliver exceptional client service to both corporate and individual clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise immigration support staff, monitor caseload health, perform quality control on filings, and drive ongoing process improvements to support efficient and compliant case preparation.
- Assist IPG Practice Manager with training and mentoring immigration paralegals and coordinators.
- Establish and maintain standardized templates, checklists, and operating procedures for case initiation, document collection, form and letter drafting, and filing assembly.
- Ensure case management system records are current, reliable, and audit-ready, and that the practice utilizes technology in the most efficient and effective manner.
- Assist with onboarding and training new paralegals, provide ongoing feedback, and develop team capabilities in immigration procedures, drafting, and client communications.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of IPG document repository and templates
- Participate in identifying training needs, implementing technology solutions, tracking key performance metrics, and ensuring consistent service delivery.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and demonstrate sound judgment in handling sensitive personal, corporate, and financial information.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
- At least five years’ experience in a law firm immigration practice with demonstrated mastery of case preparation and filing processes.
- Prior supervisory, lead, or mentoring experience (one to three years);
- Strong working knowledge of employment-based immigration matters such as H-1B, L-1, O-1, TN, E-3, PERM labor certification, I-140 immigrant petitions, and adjustment of status/consular processing.
- Excellent drafting, proofreading, and quality-control skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines; and
- Proficiency with immigration case management and document management systems and standard office tools.
- Preferred qualifications include a paralegal certificate, experience managing corporate clients, comfort training staff and standardizing workflows.
The annual range for this position is $90k - $110k. Actual base pay within this range will be determined by several components, including but not limited to, location, relevant experience, internal equity, skills, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
