The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Remote Immigration Paralegal to manage a caseload of family-based and removal defense cases. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of hands-on experience, a meticulous approach to case preparation, and a genuine passion for helping clients navigate the complex U.S. immigration system. You will be a key member of our team, responsible for case management from inception to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and file a wide range of family-based petitions and applications with USCIS, including but not limited to: Form I-130 (Petition for Alien Relative), Form I-485 (Application to Adjust Status), Form I-751 (Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence), consular processing applications (DS-260), waivers, and naturalization applications (N-400). Experience with humanitarian petitions such as U Visas or VAWA also a plus!
- Prepare and file applications for relief and other motions with the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR), including applications for Asylum, Cancellation of Removal (EOIR-42A/42B), and supporting evidence.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing case status updates, gathering necessary documentation, and answering questions with empathy and professionalism.
- Maintain highly organized and accurate digital case files.
- Proactively monitor case deadlines, including priority dates, visa expiration dates, and court filing deadlines.
- Draft correspondence, affidavits, and other legal documents for attorney review.
- Conduct legal and factual research as needed for case preparation.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of direct experience as an immigration paralegal.
- Proven experience in preparing and filing both affirmative family-based cases with USCIS and defensive applications with EOIR.
- Exceptional attention to detail and outstanding organizational skills are a must.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage a significant caseload efficiently and meet strict deadlines.
- High degree of professionalism and a strong commitment to client confidentiality.
- Proficiency with legal technology, including Dropbox, Trello, etc.
- Must be a self-starter, capable of working independently and productively in a remote setting.
- Must be available to work during standard Pacific Time business hours.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish or English and Armenian is a significant plus.
- A bachelor’s degree or a paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program is highly desirable but definitely not necessary
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
