Serrato Law Firm, A.P.C. is a top rated immigration law firm in Orange County. Our firm is looking for an experienced legal assistant or paralegal to join our growing team.

Legal Assistant will work primarily in Family Based Immigration Department managing cases before USCIS. Legal assistant will work under the direction of an attorney and a legal assistant supervisor, but are expected to complete his/her work independently.

Applicants must have at least one year experience working in immigration law.

Responsibilities:

Assist in preparing applications for filing with USCIS, primarily forms I-130, I-485, U Visa, N-400 and Employment Authorization Applications.
Assist in drafting declarations and various legal documents.
Preparing filings for submission with USCIS and other government agencies in accordance with respective standards.
Assist clients in complying and preparing evidence.
Drafting translations of various legal documents for submission to government agencies.
Communicate regularly with client regarding case status.
Manage independent case load and ensure all deadlines are met.
Maintaining internal case management system.

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree or Paralegal Certification required. (International degrees will be considered.)
+1 Year immigration law experience.
Knowledge of USCIS filing standards.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Excellent client service skills.
Ability to work independently
Ability to work under strict legal deadlines.
Strong organizational skills, and ability to manage.
Must be able write and speak in Spanish and English fluently.

Compensation is commensurate with experience. Positions is eligible for benefits including paid vacation, paid sick leave, and health insurance and retirement savings plan.
