MINIMUN QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate or Bachelors is a plus and would increase salary.
- Bilingual, proficiently read, write, and speak English and Spanish.
- Have a minimum of two (2) years of work experience in USCIS and EOIR.
- A clear passion for working with vulnerable immigrant community, trauma-informed listening skills, be highly organized.
- Able to work effectively in a team environment, as well as take independent initiative.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and comfortable utilizing online software and programs. Camp Legal knowledge is a plus.
- Demonstrated dedication to immigrant rights, social justice, and/or human rights based on work experience, volunteer service, or educational activities.
- Ability to work independently, solve problems and achieve goals and deadlines.
- Capacity to be a strong team member in a highly collaborative social service environment.
- Personal integrity in handling ethically complex and confidential situations.
- Strong computer literacy, research, and analysis skills
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Provide timely and accurate information through all channels (in person, by phone and email).
- Preparation of applications, petitions, motions, briefs, and memorandums as required.
- Manage the evidence received, both physically and digitally, appropriately and within the assigned timeframe.
- Resolve any USCIS tickets for client inquiries, contracts, copying, scanning, faxing, taking notes, updating, and creating reports.
- Assist with overflow clerical work for attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff, if necessary.
- Keep managers updated on day-to-day activities in the office as well as on new developments.
- Prepare and maintain files, records, information that complies with regulations, policies, procedures, & relevant laws.
- Maintain the office tidy and presentable, with all the material and stationery necessary for the different tasks to be performed.
- Experience working with diverse populations, especially non-native English speakers.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with clients of diverse cultural and language backgrounds.
- Case Management- case review to clients and Attorneys.
- Paper filing and e-filing.
- Prepare and draft correspondence and legal forms.
- Legal research.
