We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Removal Defense Attorney with a strong background in immigration law, particularly in representing clients facing deportation or removal proceedings. The ideal candidate will have courtroom experience, a deep understanding of immigration court procedures, and a commitment to providing high-quality legal representation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in removal and deportation proceedings before the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR).
- Prepare and file motions, briefs, asylum applications, cancellation of removal applications, waivers, and appeals.
- Conduct legal research and analysis on complex immigration and constitutional law issues.
- Develop and execute individualized case strategies for clients facing removal.
- Appear at master and individual hearings, bond hearings, and other immigration court proceedings.
- Provide comprehensive legal counsel to clients and their families throughout the removal defense process.
- Stay informed of changes in immigration laws, policies, and court rulings that affect removal defense.
- Collaborate with paralegals, support staff, and fellow attorneys to manage a high-volume caseload.
- Maintain accurate and timely case notes and documentation in the firm’s case management system.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active bar license in good standing (any state).
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in removal defense or immigration law preferred.
- Strong courtroom and litigation skills.
- Excellent written and oral advocacy skills.
- Proficiency in English; additional language skills are a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
