About the Position
The Senior Affirmative Immigration Paralegal role at Murray Osorio offers an exciting opportunity to join one of our five dynamic legal teams. As a vital team member, you will be the first point of contact for clients, guiding them through the preparation of their cases for Immigration Court proceedings nationwide. This role involves collaboration with various immigration agencies and external professionals, tailored to the unique needs of each client. You will thrive in a supportive environment, specializing in complex cases before the Immigration Court, and making a meaningful impact in the field of immigration law.
In This Position, You Will:
- Assist attorneys in preparing and filing affirmative immigration applications for clients seeking legal status in the United States.
- Gather supporting evidence and conduct in-depth country conditions research to strengthen clients' cases.
- Work closely with clients and witnesses to complete detailed affidavits.
- Prepare both simple and complex legal motions with attorneys.
- Compile and organize exhibits and supporting documents for individual hearings.
- Interpret for clients during hearing preparation sessions, as needed.
- Maintain and update the case-management database to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Communicate with clients directly through phone calls and emails, fostering trust and clarity.
- Coordinate appointments, manage hearing schedules, and track important deadlines.
- Partner with the Legal Assistant Team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of filings.
- Cultivate effective working relationships with attorneys, staff, and clients to ensure seamless collaboration.
Qualifications:
- Must be fluent in Spanish (reading, writing, speaking)
- High School Diploma/GED
- 1-2 years of work experience in immigration law
- Knowledge of Immigration Court Procedures
- Able to handle a high volume of work independently and in teams
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills
- Detailed oriented and highly organized
- Enthusiasm to learn and take on new challenges
- Excellent customer service skills
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using AdobePro, Docketwise, Salesforce, SharePoint, and Zoom
- Bachelors/associate degree with paralegal studies (ABA approved)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00 - $33.00 per hour
