Job Description Summary:
Faegre Drinker is looking to hire an Immigration Paralegal to contribute to one of the most sophisticated and multi-dimensional business immigration and global mobility practices in the U.S. This position can be based out of our Denver, Minneapolis, Chicago, or Washington, D.C. office. If you have excellent technical, writing, communication, and research skills and are looking for an exciting career in immigration law, we have an opportunity for you. In particular, we are seeking an Immigration Paralegal with knowledge of I-9s and/or internal I-9 auditing and related immigration compliance matters. In this position, you will: work with our team of attorneys; interact with multinational corporate clients; and draft government filings on behalf of highly skilled technical workers, business executives, and leading international scientists.

What you would do:

Assist attorneys in preparation of employment-based immigration petitions and applications

Perform audits (e.g., re: I-9s) of client documents to support compliance initiatives

Utilize an immigration case management system and database

Manage a heavy caseload of immigration matters

Contribute to the development of practice processes to simplify work, standardize procedures, and help the team operate more efficiently and effectively

Conduct immigration-related research

Complete other projects and duties as assigned

The anticipated initial hourly rate for someone who is hired into this position is $33.50-$38.50/hour based on a 37.5 hour a week schedule.
Actual initial hourly rate may be above or below the above-identified range and will be based on the relevant skills, training, experience, and other job-related factors, including the location where the position is filled, in all cases consistent with applicable law. This is a non-exempt role paid on an hourly basis. The initial hourly rate listed above is just one component of Faegre Drinker's total compensation and benefits package for professional staff, which includes, but is not limited to, a discretionary bonus; life, health, accident, and disability insurance; and a 401(k) plan.

What is required:

Experience with employment-based immigration is required

Form I-9 audit experience or other document audit experience strongly preferred

Bachelor’s degree is required; paralegal certificate or degree will be considered in lieu of a four-year degree

Strong research and analytical skills required

Strong technical aptitude, critical thinking, analytical, and decision-making skills required

Foreign language proficiency is preferred
