Our fast-paced business immigration practice an opportunity for a Business Immigration Legal Writer to work with our San Francisco based team! The Immigration Legal Writer II will be responsible for drafting correspondence and memoranda relevant to the Firm’s immigration practice, collaborating with immigration attorneys, and adhering to government deadlines.

Essential Functions:
- Research law, investigate facts, and prepare documents to assist attorneys with immigration matters.

Translate facts into understandable and persuasive content to be reviewed by officers adjudicating immigration matters.

Perform online research, navigating the web, and being a quick study to understand and articulate the nuances of any particular position in science, arts, education, business, or athletics.

Formulate legal strategies for cases, and execute agreed-upon strategies, including communications with beneficiaries to coordinate petition preparation.

Work closely with immigration attorneys on special writing projects and perform copy-editing and proofreading as required.

Work independently managing multiple writing projects simultaneously.

Write skillfully and collaborate with reviewing attorneys to ensure accuracy and efficacy.

Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing, Communications, Journalism, or related degree that involves writing required.

A minimum of 2 years of business immigration experience required.

Substantial legal writing experience required, particularly with recent National Interest Waivers (NIWs).

Ability to understand and an ability to learn immigration law and the firm’s network of clients, cases, and legal teams.

Ability to multi-task and prioritize with competing demands.

Ability to organize workflow and use time efficiently.

Ability to show strong attention to detail.

Ability to perform at high levels in a fast-paced ever-changing work environment and successfully adapt to changing priorities and work demands.

Ability to anticipate work needs and follow through with minimum direction, follow up on own initiative.

Proficient proofreading and editing skills are required.

Benefits:
In accordance with California’s amended labor code as stated in Senate Bill 1162, the expected salary range for this California position is between $71,840 and $107,760. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law. This position qualifies for the benefits below. In accordance with the Wage Transparency Omnibus Amendment Act, the expected salary range for this DC position is between $68320 and $102,480. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law. This position qualifies for the benefits below.
